I was referred to Nicola Milby a couple of months ago by a Cumbria County Council Health and Wellness Coach after being discharged from the Cumbria Adult Mental Health Service crisis team. I had been suffering with depression and anxiety for years, was struggling to leave the house and hadn't worked for a really long time. My quality of life and mood were still very low when we first met and I couldn't see how I was ever going to get my once busy life back on track, let alone begin to find a job and get out to work.

Nicky and I have been meeting most weeks for a few months now and without doubt she has been instrumental in my recovery. I had no idea where to start when it came to rebuilding my life and was feeling very overwhelmed, but as our meetings went on, with Nickys help I was able to formulate more of a cohesive plan. With her unwavering support and encouragement I am now in a position to get back into the workplace and I commence a new part-time permanent position in 3 days. Without Nicky's help I can categorically state that this wouldn't be the case.

Nicky has been a source of great support to me, has been extremely understanding and patient and has gone over and above throughout our time together. During our meetings she handled with sensitivity and empathy any issues that have arisen and has somehow managed to coach me back to a point that I can get out to work.

Each week, Nicky provided me with pertinent advice, sent me numerous relevant job adverts that suited my skill set and contacted prospective employers on my behalf. Her support has been truly invaluable and I really cannot thank her enough.

I am incredibly grateful to MIND for providing this service and it has been a completely positive experience from start to finish. As much as I am excited to be returning to the workplace, I am going to be sad to say goodbye to Nicky and will never forget what she has done for me.
